2008/2009 Unique Venues Planner’s GuideBoth smaller and bigger can be better

Here it is, hot off the presses – the 2008/2009 Unique Venues Planner’s Guide! We are especially proud of this year’s directory. It’s stylishly lean and loaded with powerful information. Smaller than past editions? Only in the raw sense that a Volvo is smaller than a Hummer. But before jumping to any judgments, check under the hood. This baby’s packed with high-tech, highperformance features.

The 2008/2009 Guide has been carefully designed to work effectively with our more-robust web portal, uniquevenues.com.

Look at our membership listings here, and you’ll be exposed to just enough information to start your selection process by picking which venues to visit on our web site. At uniquevenues.com you can INTERACT with hundreds of venue profiles and search (for free, of course) our database of more than 9,000 unique meeting and event venues in North America, the UK and Ireland.

So what can you find in Unique Venues’ newest Planner’s Guide? How about a new icon system that provides you with easy-to-understand venue categories – which we’ve expanded this year to include college and university venues; conference and business centers; camps, retreats and spiritual centers; arenas, stadiums and event centers; historic and cultural venues; dining and entertainment venues; and meetings at sea! (See the key at the bottom of this page.)

Once you’ve browsed through this guide, visit us at uniquevenues.com to experience complimentary RFP services that effectively will generate your possibilities from our 9,000 venues. You will find that our new, INTERACTIVE, online venue-profiles provide you with image galleries, virtual tours, Google Maps and other cutting-edge technologies that will enable you to discover all that our venues have to offer.

In addition to being more condensed and efficient, this year’s guide is our first step in coloring Unique Venues green. We were faced with a dilemma this year. The 2008/2009 Guide will receive record distribution – 70,000 copies are going to meeting planners along with Meetings and Conventions August magazine! While that’s an awful lot of paper, consider this: By reducing the guide from last year’s 240 pages to 132 pages this year, we will save 7.56 million pages while expanding our distribution. Talk about saving trees!

So remember, the 2008/2009 Planner’s Guide is SMALLER and BETTER, while uniquevenues.com is BIGGER and BETTER. Just two more reasons why Unique Venues continues to grow and retain its place in the North American hospitality industry as the most-comprehensive resource for meeting and event professionals seeking exciting, interesting and unusual venues.

Be Unique,
Chuck Salem, President

The Company:
Unique Venues, as our name suggests, is about the unusual, the non-traditional, the unique. We provide marketing, promotional and educational support to our 900+ membership base which is comprised of colleges, universities, theaters, mansions, entertainment venues, castles, conference centers, and museums, etc. in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Our members have one thing in common...they are not part of the mainstream hospitality industry so their needs, challenges and interests are different than those of their hotel and resort counterparts.

For over 20 years, we have been promoting, marketing and educating non-traditional venues. We've remained true to our core, true to our mission, true to our passion that we set out to pursue 20 years ago. Through our print, online and CD directories, lead program, educational newsletters and articles, trade show exposure, free press service and professional development workshops, members of Unique Venues receive exposure to meeting/event planners and the greater meetings industry as well as the educational opportunities they need to better themselves professionally.
