AV Technology provides instructional, problem solving content to AV/IT professionals in the education, corporate, hospitality, entertainment, medical, gaming, worship, and government markets. The magazine helps readers navigate their jobs better and therefore generate more revenue for their employers. (Tradepub.org) Newbay Media Systems Integration Group Launches AV Technology NEW YORK -- NewBay Media, the leading publisher of the systems integration market, has announced the launch of AV Technology, the industry’s first dedicated AV end-user magazine and web site, covering all key vertical application areas. The first issue of AV Technologywill hit in March 2008, with five more editions throughout the year, mailing in May, June, August, October, and December. The magazine will reach 20,000 end users, including AV managers, IT managers, HR and training managers, superintendents, chief administrators, facility planners and managers, managers of MIS and communications, and event producers. A companion web site, www.AVTechnologyOnline.com, will provide additional insights, analysis, and up-to-the-minute information. Both the magazine and the web site will address the business and technical issues that face today’s AV professionals. Every education, corporate, medical, entertainment, gaming, hospitality, and government organization has individuals who are responsible for the strategic and tactical deployment of AV and IT. This group has incredible purchasing power and works in lock step with systems integrators around the country. “AV Technology is another example of NewBay Media’s ingenuity and market leadership in print and online,” says Steve Palm, CEO of NewBay Media. “This is an underserved market with tremendous purchasing power of technology such as displays, projectors, and software. With AV Technology — and its well-established and respected staff — we round out our Systems portfolio and fill a void in the market.” Though AV Technology is new, readers and partners will recognize the faces behind the brand, starting with editor Mark Mayfield, who has served as editor of several leading AV industry publications (including, most recently, Pro AV), and is an adjunct faculty member with InfoComm International. He has held marketing positions with many well-known equipment manufacturers, including Bose, JBL, and Eastern Acoustic Works. In addition to his AV Technology duties, Mayfield will also serve as an editorial advisor to Systems Contractor News. “Technology for communication, presentation, and even entertainment has been evolving toward an IT model for several years now. Most technology managers in end-user markets are quite familiar with the IT model, but perhaps less so with professional audio and visual applications,” says Mayfield. “AV Technology will bridge that gap, and provide the timely information and tools that AV/IT users and managers need to do their jobs more effectively.” Joining Mayfield is a product development and sales team represented by Sue Horwitz and Stan Kashine. Horwitz brings over 20 years of experience in start-up and territory expansion and has managed national launches for two industry publications — Pro AVand Live Sound International. Kashine brings over 25 years of experience as a senior sales executive and marketing manager with extensive experience in the publishing industry. Both recently come from working on Pro AV magazine. AV Technology will join NewBay Media’s Systems Integration Group, which includes brands such as Systems Contractor News, Residential Systems, Digital Signage Magazine, and Rental & Staging Systems. “We welcome Mark, Sue, and Stan to the NewBay Media team and look forward to working with them to grow our systems integration properties,” states Adam Goldstein, Vice President and Group Publishing Director of the Systems Integration Group. “Many in the industry told us they were looking for a way to reach AV end users, and we responded by delivering an integrated print/online marketing resource for AV manufacturers and integrators.” Request Your Free Subscription to AV Technology Qualify for Your Free Subscription!
