Hey, girls!
This issue of Double Dutch represents a New Year, a new you. In this issue Double Dutch will help you make it happen! You have so many responsibilities: school, work, relationships, family, etc. It's time to put you first. It does not mean that you should be selfish. It mean to "take care of self."

As females we are often guilty of doning things for others and making ourselves last on the list. Decide today to do something nice for yourself and remove the toxic people form your life. This is the month of love so have fun tips on giving gifts to yourself in "Love Yourself." Break free from possessive and abusive guys by reading about the real deal on abuse in, 'Pain is Not Love.' Of course, life is not any fun without treating yourself to some great fasion, music and cookies every once in a while, too! LOL!

About Jen Threat:

I'm the editor and publisher of "Double Dutch" magazine. See the first issue of Double Dutch. It's definitely is different from other teen mags.

It is an urban, digital magazine for multi-cultural girls ages 12-17. I'm looking forward to creating a magazine for teen girls that will inspire them to be confident leaders in school and in their communities.

Double Dutch will cover topics such as self-esteem, peer pressure, fashion, music, fitness and entrepreneurship. I have over 10 years experience in magazine publishing from magazines that include Good Housekeeping, Ebony and Essence. I also earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Advertising from Ohio University and Master's degree in Magazine Publishing from New York University.   .

Being a teen can sometimes be tough when you're trying to manage relationships with friends and family and getting your schoolwork done, but you can still reach your goals and have fun! Hey, hit me up if you want to be a part of the Double Dutch team!
