The Economic Report of the President is an annual report written by the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors. It overviews the nation's economic progress using text and extensive data appendices. The Economic Report of the President is transmitted to Congress no later than ten days after the submission of the Budget of the United States Government.

The Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) is a group of economists set up to advise the President of the United States. It is a part of the Executive Office of the President of the United States, and provides much of the economic policy of the White House. The Council's three members are nominated by the President and approved by the Senate.

The current chairman of the Council is Edward Lazear, on leave of absence from Stanford University; the other members are Katherine Baicker of UCLA and Matthew Slaughter of Dartmouth.
