Lifted Magazine, June/July 2007, Asiaing.comWhat is Lifted Magazine?

Lifted Magazine Inc. was started in April 2005 by Tiffany Simpson who wanted to create a new, independent magazine with positive and Christian undertones to fill a void in the market. Lifted Magazine is targeted at young adults between 18-34 years old who are in tune with their faith and want an alternative to the mainstream magazines found in the racks today.

Lifted Magazine began as a purely web-based magazine and wished to expand to include a bi-monthly print magazine in July 2006. Unfortunately those plans have been put on hold for the time being and escalating environmental concerns now also play a large role in determining whether another print launch will be attempted..

Newsletters are distributed bi-monthly which feature the latest edition of the magazine. The PDF editions often contain exclusive articles available only by reading the PDF version. A majority of the articles contained within the PDF may also be found online such as travel guides, faith articles, cooking features, college life and career insights, entertainment reviews and works of fiction. We also post some articles exclusively online for the benefit of frequent visitors to the website.

Letter from the Editor:

I generally find myself sitting down to write this letter to you, our readers, and the words just begin to flow. But here I sit, just days away from publishing the next issue, and I am at a loss.

We’ve added a few new members to the staff here and I’m really looking forward to their future contributions. It always amazes me the ways that God blesses this magazine and those that contribute to it and I am forever grateful to Him for His blessings upon all of us. Not only does He continue to bring amazing writers through our door but He also provides the continued motivation and inspiration for us to assemble this magazine and keep publishing even more articles online.

As I’ve mentioned below, we have also added two new sections to Lifted Magazine. In our Election 2008 coverage, we will attempt to give you unbiased insight into some of the presidential candidates and look forward to helping you make a more informed decision when you go to cast your vote. We are very pleased to present Dr. Kent Mesplay in this issue and look forward to upcoming interviews with Dr. George Phillies, a Presidential hopeful running on behalf of the Libertarian Party, and Mitt Romney, running on behalf of the Republican party.

We have also added a section about environmental changes and awareness to address the growing concerns that many now have about the state of our planet. Although each of us is only one person, there is still much we can personally do to make a positive impact. We are looking forward to discussing some of those options in future issues as well as other environmental issues. In this issue, we give a general overview of global warming as a whole and also take a more controversial glance at the issue, exploring the thoughts of those who just aren’t convinced that all this hype is merited.

For all those who are going to be traveling and enjoying themselves during a break from school, we hope you stay safe and enjoy some lovely weather. And for those like me who just wish we had 2-3 months off to enjoy ourselves, there are always mini-vacations you can make for yourself...sometimes in your own backyard!

Until next time...

Tiffany Simpson
Editor-in-Chief
