People Magazine
Sunday, 03 December 2006

ImagePeople Magazine is a weekly publication with all the latest celebrity and popular culture news. You'll find inside news you crave about the personalities who fascinate you. People is one of the most popular and well known of its kind for credible Hollywood gossip.

People is the most wildly, consistently successful magazine in history and it's avidly read by half the population of America each year. Why? The people at People know what you want to read: the absolute latest, impossible-to-get dish on celebrity scandals (a $3-million-a-year fact-checking department keeps it real); definitive tribute issues; snappy wrap-ups on the whereabouts of yesterday's stars and the current Most Beautiful People; riveting stories of real folks caught up in the day's biggest news, health, and crime stories; and quick picks and pans on what's up in entertainment. And after years of black-and-white drabness, the mag has fully mastered the art of flashy, full-color photography. --Bob Brandeis

People Magazine
Sunday, 03 December 2006

ImagePeople is a weekly American magazine of celebrity and human interest stories, published by Time Inc.. As of 2006, it has a circulation of 3.73 million and revenue expected to top $1.5 billion. It was named "Magazine of the Year" by Advertising Age in October 2005, for excellence in editorial, circulation and advertising.

The magazine runs a roughly 50/50[3] mix of celebrity and human interest stories, a ratio it has maintained, according to its editors, since 2001. People's editors claim to refrain from printing pure celebrity gossip, enough so to lead celebrity publicists to propose exclusives to the magazine, evidence of what one staffer calls it a "publicist-friendly strategy."

People is perhaps best known[citation needed] for its yearly special issues naming "The 50 Most Beautiful People", "The Best and Worst Dressed", and "The Sexiest Man Alive". (From Wikipedia)
