TRAVEL INFORMATION
Safety Regulations
Automobiles – Children up to age six are required to ride in an approved car seat or booster seat appropriate for the child’s size and age. Children 6–18 must wear a seat belt. Seat belts are also required for adults in the front seat.
Motorcycles – Helmets are required for all motorcycle operators and passengers.

Time Zones
The western third of the state operates on Mountain Standard Time, while the central and eastern portions of Nebraska are on Central Standard Time.

Transportation
Interstate travel – I-80 stretches more than 450 miles across the state from east to west with many convenient rest areas and gas stops along the way.
Air travel – Commercial air travel is available at two larger airports in Lincoln and Omaha as well as at several regional airports across the state.
Bus travel – Greyhound bus stops can be found in 16 different communities throughout the state, including North Platte, Grand Island, Norfolk, Lincoln, and Omaha.
Train travel – Amtrak stops in McCook, Holdrege, Hastings, Lincoln, and Omaha.
