In May 8, 2006, TIME magazine published the TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2006, their third annual special issue of "100 most influential people" . It listed 20 people or pairs in five categories: Leaders and revolutionaries, builders and titans, artists and entertainers, scientists and thinkers, and heroes and icons.
