V Magazine, Spring 2008

Magazine - V Magazine

V Magazine, Spring 2008V Magazine was launched in September 1999 as the younger sibling publication to the limited-edition quarterly Visionaire.

If Visionaire is a couture book, V is ready-to-wear. V is large-format and visually-driven, international in scope and collaborative in spirit. V is a magazine about fashion with a capital F and all the things that go with it: art, music, film, architecture...you name it. Before V was put into print, we thought of it this way: Imagine a wall of forty-four televisions, each tuned to a different station.

Today you would need a wall of 250 televisions, but it's still a good way to think of the insane and unpredictable mix of people, places, and things that V celebrates in its pages. V is a place where uptown meets downtown, celebrities mingle with total unknowns, high art converses with underground culture.

Chic, wacky, fun, fabulous...in a letter: V.

V Magazine was launched in September 1999, and is a fashion, art, and lifestyle magazine focused on a young, sophisticated, and international audience of men and women who want style, stars, and stories before they’re news anywhere else.

V Magazine targets the discerning cosmopolitan reader. No other magazine in the world mixes high-end luxury with the latest in the urban underground—covering the next wave of rock bands right alongside next season’s hot designers. V’s readership runs from high-profile players and professionals to students and 25-year olds interested in the creative bend.

Within V’s pages is unpredictable and exciting coverage of beauty trends and views from fashion’s top image makers and photographers. The world’s renowned makeup artists and hairstylists offer their tips, tricks, and product recommendations to help make V’s readers even more beautiful. For us, beauty doesn’t take a backseat to fashion, it rides along right next to it.

V highlights the biggest and best artists in music today: Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, David Bowie, Kylie Minogue, and Alicia Keys being just a few. In an ongoing series called Rock Diary, Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane goes behind the scenes of the rowdiest and most explicit rock shows on the planet. The result is the freshest and most expansive coverage of today’s new music scene.

V Magazine’s featured cultural content includes exclusive interviews with personalities such as Gwen Stefani, Tom Ford, Beyoncé, Norman Mailer, Andreas Gursky, and Alicia Keys; contributions by icons like musician David Bowie, designer Karl Lagerfeld, director Martin Scorsese, and designer Hedi Slimane; and the most roving, kinetic mix of band reports, actor interviews, behind-the-scenes coverage of art in progress, and, of course, fashion.
